Mount Massico with its 813 meters is the highest relief of the mountain range which starts from the slopes of the Roccamonfina volcano and reaches the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Among the other peaks of the limestone massif, which separates the Volturno valley from the Garigliano one, there are Mount Petrino, also known as the fortress of Mondragone, of 431 meters, Mount Crestagallo of 438 meters and Mount Cicoli, which is located on the coast, between Mondragone and Sessa Aurunca.

The Massico is covered with Mediterranean scrub with holm oak, hornbeam, carob, wild olive, downy oak and common maple woods. Also: cypress, stone pine, maritime pine,locust and acacia. The fauna reveals the presence of foxes, weasels and stone martens, dormouse, vole, hazel mouse, badger, hedgehog, marten and wild boar. 90 species of birds of prey and passerines have been identified. The presence of the small raptor scops owl is of particular interest.
